Stockport will be lit up with festive cheer tonight as the town’s Christmas lights are switched on by former X Factor star Jake Quickenden.
The I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here finalist will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent contestant Bailey McConnell, fresh new girl group Tiger Heart and swing sensation Alexander Stuart in the show at Merseyway.
There will also be performances from local talent including the Stella Maris School, NK Theatre Arts, Debut Dance Academy and Snowflake Sisters.
The festive fun kicks off at 5pm, building up to the big switch on at 7pm.
Brendan Webb, centre manager at Merseyway said: “We’re delighted that Jake Quickenden will be headlining this year’s line-up.
“We’re confident that news of his visit to Merseyway will cause great excitement and this will be one of our most anticipated Christmas light switch-ons to date.
“The event will offer something for everyone and is the perfect opportunity to get a head start on Christmas shopping.”
