Balasore: Two employees of a private finance company were robbed of Rs 1.7 lakh by armed miscreants near Nayakbandha crusher under Soro police limits in Balasore district on Sunday morning.
The matter came to light after the victims, employees of a private finance company, Jagannath Swain and Rashmirekha Das, lodged a complaint with the local police this morning.
According to sources, the victims after collecting money from Bhimei village were en route to their office this morning when three bike-borne miscreants chased them. Later, the desperadoes attacked them with sharp weapons and snatched away the bag containing Rs 1.7 lakh cash.
Following this, the employees sustained critical injuries on their head and hands.
On the basis of the complaint, police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the incident.
