The Mate family tree is getting complicated – according to the most recent rumors, there will be three or even four versions. They will differ in what screens they use and the Leica camera will be reserved for the higher-end models.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is code named Blanc and will have a 5.9” AMOLED screen with QHD resolution and a new Leica dual cam.
The base Mate 10 will stick to an IPS LCD screen with 1080p resolution, but will keep the camera. This one is dubbed Alps. These two will start at $850 and $650 respectively.
Then there’s the Mate 10 Lite (aka Rhone), which loses the Leica cam. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a different chipset on this one as well.
Finally, Marcel – that could be this year’s Porsche Design. It should combine the top specs of the Pro model with a premium exterior. Huawei has scheduled an event for October 16 and looking at these four versions, it will be a busy one.
