A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow and Axis Bank. Through this MoU, all the female candidates getting into the one-year executive MBA, International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX), will be given an option to join Axis Bank after completing their degree from IIM-L.

Axis WE Lead
The entire initiative, which is the brainchild of Axis Bank CEO Shikha Sharma, is called WE Lead, stated a press release issued by IIM-L. Axis bank, in a statement, said, through Axis WE Lead, they wish to reinforce their commitment to initiatives beyond mere placements whilst focusing on leadership, nurturing and inclusivity by developing mid-managerial talent among women.

Helping women build a strong career foundation
“This cohort is important from the point of view of building a strong career foundation for women to stay within the workforce and progress on to senior levels of management,” the bank added in their statement. This lateral hiring program also supports `Returning Women’ who are back in the game after a time-out.
Placement officials at IIM-L said, WE Lead is an effort to understand each other’s — recruiting partners and IIM-L — needs.
