StudyPortals, the international study search platform, has acquired a significant share of student recruitment and webinar provider Web2Presentfor an undisclosed amount.
The company aims to promote the use of webinars among its 1,800 university partners saying it benefits students to have a “personal touch” in the decision making process.
“It took StudyPortals about six years to collect all the information that students need to discover and choose their dream study however that information is factual, impersonal and only based on one-way communication,” commented CEO Edwin van Rest.
“We have been looking for a way to bring back that ‘personal touch’ since 2012- webinars have proven to be the most successful solution”
“We have been looking for a way to bring back that ‘personal touch’ since 2012. Webinars have proven to be the most successful solution.”
Based in Barcelona, Web2Present has delivered interactive online sessions to over 70 universities worldwide including Trinity College Dublin and the Sorbonne.
With internet connectivity and speed improving globally, the company argues that webinars deliver more ROIs at less cost than traditional study fairs.
It guarantees between 50-150 registered candidates to each webinar which vary in price from €1,500 to €6,000 depending on the package universities choose.
“Just as print advertisement, in time, has taken a back seat to online advertisement, more and more universities are now opting for webinars as they allow for a time saving, live interaction with their potential students,” said founders Luuk Mulling and Rasmus Weissfeld.
In 2014, StudyPortals attracted nine million unique users. It said the webinar offer will soon be available to all universities and students within its community.
