School students witnessing a street play on healthy lifestyles on June 14 under Dhansiripar block
Dimapur, June 22 (EMN): To promote awareness in National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes & Stroke (NPPCDS) diseases and Adolescent Reproductive & Sexual Health (ARSH), street plays were conducted on June 14 and June 17 at Little Daffodils Higher Secondary School, Doyapur; Government High School, Dhansiripar; and Amaluma village under Dhansiripar block. The plays were enacted to make the audience aware of the consequences of leading an unhealthy lifestyle and to encourage making a healthy lifestyle choices and being responsible for one’s own health. The plays depicted consequences and ill effects of leading unhealthy lifestyle for the adolescence and as well as the adult and also the benefits of physical activities and good balance diet in our daily lives. After the play, feedbacks were taken from selected audience to assess the outcome of the play. The villagers and students shared that it was a good learning experience and also shared that henceforth they will be more responsible for their own health.
