Earlier this month, Samsung hinted that its flagship Galaxy S7 smartphone won’t be introduced duringCES 2016. That revelation indicated the smartphone would launch at MWC, as Samsung has done in previous years. Now, China Mobile appears to have confirmed the launch month of the handset.
According to a purported slideshow showing the telecom carrier’s roadmap, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will launch in March next year, which is in line with the now anticipated MWC launch. The presentation is said to have been shown in a recent event in China. The image showing the particular slideshow wascaptured and posted by a Weibo user (via GforGames). It has also been revealed that the Galaxy S7 will cost more than CNY 3,000 (roughly Rs. 30,600). Prices of other handsets such as Huawei P9, Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A7 (2016), and others were also mentioned.
The indicated launch month also goes in line with the recent Wall Street Journal report. As per the report, the Galaxy S7 will be announced during MWC 2016 conference in February and will hit the shelves in mid-March.
Leaks and rumours until now have suggested the Galaxy S7 will run Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor in select regions and its Exynos 8 Octa 8890 in others. The firm has reportedly entered an agreement with Qualcomm that gives it exclusive access to the chipset until April 2016. This suggests that the company’s anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone will be the first handset to have Qualcomm’s latest offering. The Galaxy S7 is also tipped to house a 5.2-inch display. It is also said to sport 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive display, similar to what we have seen in Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
